Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and reliable Dish Hand to join our kitchen team. The Dish Hand will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dishwashing area and assisting with basic kitchen tasks as needed. This position plays a crucial role in supporting kitchen operations and ensuring a smooth flow of service.

Responsibilities:

• Operate dishwashing equipment to wash, rinse, and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.

• Ensure all items are cleaned thoroughly and stored properly for future use.

• Assist kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling simple dishes.

• Follow instructions from chefs or cooks to support efficient kitchen operations.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dishwashing area, including dish racks, sinks, and floors.

• Empty trash bins and recycling containers as needed and dispose of waste properly.

• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of kitchen supplies and equipment.

• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when supplies need to be replenished.

• Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment.

• Comply with health and safety regulations and guidelines at all times.

• Work cooperatively with kitchen team and servers to ensure efficient dishwashing and support during busy periods.

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to fulfil tasks and maintain kitchen cleanliness.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Dishwasher, Kitchen Hand, or similar role in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.

• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks as needed.

• Strong work ethic with a commitment to cleanliness and attention to detail.
